I think that all the things I told you, you need to have a lot of strength to continue your studies. The past is not easy, but you need to continue if you have dreams. I hope some of my stories and words help you. Good luck to everybody.

Hello, good morning. My name is Fernando Guerrero. Today, this morning, I was going to talk about my childhood.

I born in a small town in Mexico. Morelos is the name. I grow up around my father, my parents.

When I was a kid, I went to kindergarten and elementary school. And I need to walk a lot. I need to do it every day. In the morning and in the afternoon. But I love it because I can do exercise. That happened in the old school because we don’t have bus for transportation, transportation bus. That happens when you are in the elementary, in middle, in high school.

You are so lucky here because you have library. You have many things in your school because in Mexico we don’t have a lot of stuff.

The other thing that I would like to tell you. In the schools, we need to take our lunch because if you don’t take your lunch you cannot eat anything at recess.

I finish high school in Mexico. I graduate when I was 18 years old. After that, I decide to try to find another goal for my life. I decide to come to the United States. One of my goals was to come to study here. But nothing was the same as I was thinking when I was in Mexico.

I thought that it was going to be easy for me just to come here and study in the States. But it was so hard for me because I rent a place to live and I need to pay it. And I didn’t have enough time to study because I need to work.

When I came here and I need to work a lot and I couldn’t do what I wanted, I didn’t study. It was so hard for me because I couldn’t get my goals. I couldn’t finish my studies and I’m still working.

I found my job ten years ago. I work in construction. I love it very much, but it’s really hard. By my dream was to get another job, but I didn’t study.

But I am still working hard because now I have my family and I want to do for my family.

Another thing that I would like to tell you, it was not easy at the beginning when I came here to the United States because I didn’t have my family here, I only had friends. And I was only 18 years old at that time.

It was so hard because at that age, I would like to be with my family, but I couldn’t. Because I was here and I didn’t want to come back. The only thing I could do was continue.

But all this time that I was here, I learned a lot of things in my life. I didn’t care that things didn’t happen how I wanted them to, but you need to continue; you never give up. Because I think if you don’t try, if you don’t try, you can just lose your life.

It doesn’t matter if your dreams are not true, but you need to be happy or you have not. I feel so happy that I have a job and I’m working for ten years. I’m still in-love with my job.

My family supports me a lot. That’s why I’m still here, working and keep going.

When I see you (the students in class), I can see me. When I was going to school. I feel so happy that you are here to learn. I hope all of your dreams come true.

You need to fight because your self-esteem is very important. I wish you good luck to everybody.
