Larry Richie

Larry has volunteered at least weekly at Nerstrand School for the past 14 years. He is a former dairy farmer who is now beginning to raise beef cattle on his organic family farm near Medford, MN. Larry has worked tirelessly with the students of the school developing an International Peace Garden. He also advocated for the children when he gained permission for them to install the natural landscaping at the Big Woods State Park Visitors' Center a number of years ago. Long a student of Native American culture, Larry has brought experiences to Nerstrand's students that have enabled them to gain a keen appreciation for the people who lived in the Nerstrand area before the European settlers arrived. Larry's positive impact on the students of Nerstrand School is immeasurable.
