Minneapolis, MN – Elizabeth Hall International Elementary School will host a community celebration honoring three elders in the Elizabeth Hall International Elementary School gymnasium on Wednesday, May 9, 2012, 1:00PM – 2 PM. Address: 1601 Aldrich Ave. North Minneapolis, MN, 55411. Free and open to the public.
The Elder Wisdom, Children’s Song™ community celebration is brought to you by Community Celebration of Place (501-C-3) in partnership with Minneapolis Public Schools (MPS) and the West Metro Education Program (WMEP).
Long, Executive Director of Community Celebration of Place and creator of Elders’ Wisdom, Children’s Song, has been working with 3rd and 4th grade students at Elizabeth Hall International Elementary Elementary School to collectively write songs and gather recitations that honor the life stories of the following community elders:
- Henry Crosby: Executive Director, North Community YMCA Youth and Teen Enrichment Center
- George Roberts: Artist, poet, author, and retired literature and writing teacher from North High School
- Diane Robinson: Founder and Artistic Director of Hollywood Studio of Dance
