Help Us to Preserve Our Archives!
“When an elder shares their life with young people, no matter how difficult their story may be, they always conclude with lessons learned from the struggles they have lived. They always leave the child with hope. Knowing that their life has been made better by those who’ve sacrificed for them.”
—Larry Long, Artist & Executive Director of Community Celebration of Place
During 2016, it is a primary program of Community Celebration of Place to transfer this rich collection into archives that will be open to the public for generations to come.
A matching grant of $7,500 has been obtained in the hope of raising the $15,000 through Give to the Max Day on November 12th to begin transferring over one thousand elder stories and songs into archival quality for future community members, activists, educators and researchers!
Much of this collection is under immediate threat of deterioration. Through your donation these stories will be preserved and shared in order to inspire others to continue doing this work for generations to come.
Thank you so much for your support!
